Picturealbum Bart van Stratum
A small collection of the photos I took over the last few years. Most of them are taken during gliding flights/competitions. You'll also find some meteorologic pictures, and pictures taken during activities with my study: BSc ‘Soil, Water and Atmosphere’ at the Wageningen University.
My gliding history:
I started glider flying in 2001, got my gliding licence in 2003 and started flying competitions in 2004. In 2005 I got selected for the Dutch Junior Selection. So far 2006 was my best year, looking at the gliding results. I won the Hans Jonkers Memorial Cup, and with that automatically became the Dutch Student Champion. Later that year I participated in the Heidepokal (D), a qualification contest for the German National Championships. Against all expectations, I was by far the youngest participant and was flying against the German (sub)top, I won the 3rd day, and ended up 22nd out of 40 pilots.
Other highlights of my gliding career: In 2007 I won the 2nd day of the Jac Jansen Memorial Cup and ended up, together with my dad, at the 3rd place overall. In 2008 I participated, again together with my dad, in the Euroglide in the gliding class. After 8 days we finished first, and became the overall winners of our class!
Most of my flights where made with the DM, the DG300 my dad used to own, and the JB, an LS6-18w that I bought together with my dad in 2007.
